My wife and I cycled into Belgium, spring of 2011, from the Netherlands, with a tour organized by Bike & Barge Holland Tours .

Our first impressions were very favourable: chocolate puff pastries, cappuccinos with real whipped cream, and Belgian waffles.
A good way to kick off an introduction to a country.  Of course, since we we were cycling, we experienced at close-hand
many other charming characteristics of Belgian cities such as Aalterbrug, Antwerp, Bruges, Dendermonde, and Ghent.
These features included photogenic medieval architecture, interesting market squares, and fascinating museums of art and music,
all of which combine to make these cities the popular tourist attractions that they are.

Photos from other cities and towns are included in the following section on our bike and barge tour.
