My wife and I and our two young children visited Denmark, Sweden and Norway in May, 1973. Most of our time was spent in Norway, visiting my wife's relatives, and touring around the country in a Volvo sedan. Although expensive, the Scandinavian countries have much to offer the tourist, both in terms of natural beauty, and in cultural attractions.

A huge work of art by Gustav Vigeland in Frogner Park, Oslo, Norway. This is a monolithic sculpture commemorating the basic human struggle for survival.
More statues by Vigeland.  Frogner Park is a magnificent 75-acre monument to the works of the sculptor.
